Food demand is rising, and the farm worker population is both in decline and aging.

The labor shortage in Japanese agriculture is growing ever more severe, which makes labor saving and increasingly large-scale farming issues to be addressed. To provide solutions to such issues we are working to promote and popularize smart agricultural machinery that leverages ICT and robotic technology.
Today’s ISEKI Group contributes to raising productivity by labor saving offered through smart agricultural machinery such as robotic tractors and rice transplanters that can conduct almost all operations automatically under manned monitoring, as well as combine harvesters and other equipment equipped with straight-travel assist systems. Looking to achieve even greater advances in productivity, we are undertaking research and development on Level 3 (fully autonomous, remote monitoring) robotic agricultural machinery.

We at ISEKI make proposals with regard to agricultural machinery and technology and provide support that leads to a lower environmental burden by leveraging smart agricultural technologies. We provide technologies that contribute to reducing agriculture’s impact on the environment, such as by streamlining operations through robotic agricultural machinery and straight-travel assist systems, and by cutting down on the use of fertilizer through variable fertilizer application technology.
In addition, we are committed to promoting environmentally friendly agricultural technologies by proposing optimal weed control measures for pesticide-free rice cultivation using automatic weed control robots and supporting initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture by utilizing rice growth prediction data.
We will continue to support farmers in efforts to realize agriculture that is friendly to the environment.

Agriculture in Asia increasingly plays a vital role as the food demand grows globally. Facing the issues such as labor shortage in the agricultural industry and an aging population and farming income decrease, we will continue to challenge with our technologies developed in Japan to contribute to the high productivity and to be friendly to the environment. In Asia we are introducing the rice transplanters to reduce the chemical fertilizer usage and autonomous travelling machines that help reduce the burden of the farmers. We continue to support the future of Asian agriculture and contribute to the world’s food demand by providing a wide range of products, including high-performance machines for the latest agriculture, low-cost multi-purpose machines and knowledge to support farming of our customers.

By combining ISEKI Group's technology with AGCO's heritage brands, ISEKI will continue to provide features tailored to regional needs and develop electric products, contributing to further enhancing our customers' quality of life.

ISEKI has commercialized an electric riding lawn mower for the European market, which is characterized by a particularly high level of environmental awareness. In product development, what is important is “just how do we add value?” Electrification reduces CO2 emissions to zero when used by customers, but looking further into the future, we ask what kind of added value can be provided to customers and society. It will be through product development with value unique to the ISEKI Group that we will contribute to the development of communities where people can continue to live. Furthermore, we would like to enhance the appeal of agriculture and landscaping so that young people, who will lead the next generation, will want to choose as their profession agriculture and landscaping businesses that support “Agriculture & Landscape.

Integral to the development of our agricultural machinery is the practice of eco-friendly design with the goal of products that are gentle on the environment, from various perspectives, including in the production process and customer usage scenarios. We are also addressing the shift to a circular economy, as demonstrated by our increasingly lightweight products, reductions in the number of components, and the manufacture of products that are easier to maintain and that offer a longer service life. Moreover, we are committed to developing products that effectively save energy and conserve resources, which will work to inhibit climate change. We will also contribute to safety and a lower customer burden through labor savings, enhanced operability, and lower noise and vibration for greater comfort. Our efforts to expand upon and popularize eco-products are how we will realize reduced environmental impact in agriculture.

In our Environmental Vision the “ISEKI Group strives to contribute to the creation of a carbon-neutral and sustainable society by 2050 through ‘providing innovative products and higher quality of services to the customers,’” and to that end we practice business activities that take the environment into account.
At our main factories, we work to reduce CO2 emissions through such initiatives as incorporating cogeneration facilities to increase energy efficiency and to transition to carbon-neutral methane in the future. We will promote the carbon neutrality of our products in collaboration with partner companies that support ISEKI Group’s production activities and who, in the supply chain, are responsible for supplying parts.

Agriculture leverages the bounty gained from natural capital to grow rice and vegetables, however, placing too much of a burden on natural capital will destabilize the balance of biodiversity and ecological services will fail to keep pace. In order to realize agricultural solutions that coexist in harmony with nature, ISEKI is working to demonstrate and promote cultivation technologies that curtail environmental impact, such as variable fertilizer rice transplanters that can appropriately reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, and the Aigamo-Robo robot used for weed control in organic farming that does not rely on chemical fertilizers or agrochemicals. We will continue to provide agricultural solutions in harmony with nature while maintaining yields and profits without over-reliance on chemical fertilizers and agrochemicals.
